Our Projects

Koniag - AES conducted a geotechnical investigation for a potential quarry resource located on the northeast tip of Kodiak Island. The investigation relied heavily on GIS tools to aid in identifying structural lineaments and potential massive rock zones. In particular, LiDAR data was used to see through the heavy tree canopy allowing AES geologists to classify structure zones and estimate potential block sizes. Since 2000, AES has provided resource consulting and helped develop Koniag’s first GIS-compatible database of the regional corporation’s resources.

Kasaan/Mt. Andrews - Design, creation, editing and Quality Assurance (QA) of collected and existing GIS data.

Chignik/Mallard Duck Bay - Management of mobile GIS data collection; design, creation, editing and QA of collected and existing spatial data.

40 Mile/Tanacross - Design, creation, editing and QA of collected and existing spatial data. Management of mobile GIS data collection, geo-database design & creation.

Boulder Creek/Elim - Data collection; design, creation, editing and QA of collected and existing spatial data; conducted geophysical surveys.

Western Alaska Transportation Study - GIS support to this project explores the possibility of roads and other transportation corridors in rural Alaska.

The Jonesville Mine - The Jonesville Mine is a complex coal project with difficult terrain, complicated surface and sub-surface features, and a variety of logistical challenges. Our GIS expertise provides accurate visual and spatial standards to enable future development efforts to move forward efficiently.
